RoboEarth meets the Internet of Things (IoT) at the PICNIC Festival in Amsterdam (Update)

Consensus has been reached by Those Who Matter (TWM) that the Internet of Things is so over. It started to peter out in 2018, and then in February of this year the Prince of Monaco announced at his annual Quinceanera that he was bored, bored, bored with the Internet of Things and would prefer to have an Internet of Nothing — where he and his international jet-setting friends could scroll up and down and find absolutely nothing to read, watch, or buy.

“That” he told the press. “is what all the high and mighty want nowadays — an internet that makes no demands on us and leaves us feeling refreshed and cleansed after watching a blank screen for hours on end.”

Naturally, this sent shock waves throughout Silicon Valley and Six Flags Over Texas. Internet stocks plummeted on Wall Street until a whole ream of them wasn’t worth a chicken’s tooth. The market eventually rebounded, but today those who still insist that the Internet of Things is important and relevant to modern living are sitting on the edge of their seats, just waiting for the other shoe to drop. And that other shoe is the Internet of Nothing, which is also being called White House Foreign Policy.
